FRUITS <DQ>UNLIKELY<DQ> FOR CANADA Fruits Of Love is set to begin exercise today as he recovers from an attack of the metabolic disorder 'set-fast'. But trainer Mark Johnston has reiterated that he faces a race against time to get the five-year-old fit for the Canadian International at Woodbine on October 15th. Fruits Of Love has suffered an injury-plagued season and has only raced twice, winning the Hardwicke Stakes and finishing third in the Grosser Preis von Baden. The Middleham trainer said this morning: 'He`ll start being ridden again this afternoon. 'There`ll be more blood samples taken this morning and during the week and we`ll just have to watch how it goes. 'You wouldn`t see anything to look at him but that`s how it goes. Basically you have to monitor the blood and be careful how you reintroduce the exercise. 'We`ll still give Canada a go but it`s looking unlikely.' Johnston is likely to be represented by Yavana`s Pace in the Canadian contest. The trainer saddled him to finish second in the Preis von Europa at Cologne on Sunday and therefore missed Kind Regards` impressive success in the Coral Eurobet Stakes at Ascot. The daughter of Unfuwain is set to step back up to Group company following her nine-length victory. 'I haven`t seen the race yet but I`ve heard all about it,' Johnston added. 'She will run in the Princess Royal Stakes at Ascot a week on Saturday.'
